With all of the change that has happened to my life in the past several months, it is difficult at times coping. My rhythm is lost. I feel like I do not know where I am headed.

Sometimes…it is good and educational to explore these feelings. I am one who does not succumb to the depths a depression can bring. So, delving into the what and why of my feelings can help me find my way through the mire of icky emotions.

Sure, I can do flippy things, no handed cartwheels, walk on my hands, and play African instruments. So? Those things do not make me any different than anyone else.

I need friends. Thankfully, I am slowly meeting new people who get to know me (the real me that people outside don’t get to meet). Perhaps the new people in my life can help me find my way.

Yes, it’s been a time since I posted anything. This is because of reasons. Shit happens. Things change. Life becomes different and uncertain.

Discovering that my husband cheated on me turned out to be devastating. It was the event that sparked this huge change in my life. I tried to hide my emotions about it like I hid the majority of my emotions. It worked for a while. However, that while did not last for long.

Now, things are different. Things are tense. Things are stressful. They are emotionally shitty, and there is an abundance of petty jabs being thrown at me. I have an opportunity now to discover where my life will take me next, and to I can do nothing but make the best of it. I have no other choice but to adapt and keep moving.

My fellow capoeiristas would say, “Esquiva!”

I realize that I wish my career could be teaching capoeira.

I gave a demonstration of capoeira to a group of about 80 middle school kids this morning, and it…was…AWESOME! They were so engaged, and just about every one of them did my Aú (cartwheel) drill down the gymnasium floor :D We ended with a beginner’s roda with them all sitting in a circle to create the roda. We practiced the esquivas I taught them and the ginga. I played…i don’t know…about 30 kids and even the teachers bought into the game!

I, for one, find Tumblr one of the more reliable sources of information and one of the most up to date. We knew about the content of Obama’s impromptu surprise announcement before he announced it himself, just to name an example. The same difference applies to Youtube, so when I see things like this:
